Printing and finishing feasibility depends on quantity, material, dimensions and artwork. Not every process is suitable for every starting quantity.

Choosing your packaging

Build the shipping pack around the complete order.

Choose usable internal dimensions first

Measure the product with its retail packaging, tissue and any protection in place. State whether several items ship together. Internal dimensions describe usable packing space; external dimensions are larger and matter for transport. Review the proposed size in a plain sample with the actual contents instead of relying only on a flat drawing.

Match the board and insert to the contents

Weight, product shape, fragile parts and the delivery route influence the board and protection required. A larger board thickness is not a substitute for a suitable insert. Describe the intended parcel journey and any testing requirements so the supplier can propose a construction and confirm the checks included in the quotation.

Choose where the branding should appear

A small external logo, full outside design and printed inside lid are different specifications. Show all printed panels and identify areas needed for a shipping label or closure tape. Surface color and print method affect the result; review a printed sample if color matching or small details are important.

Check folding and packing time

Mailer boxes may be delivered flat for assembly during packing. Review a sample to check folds, tuck tabs and the order in which the box is assembled. Confirm whether inserts are supplied separately and how much time is needed to pack one complete order. A box that looks correct in a rendering still needs a practical packing check.

Distinguish two shipping calculations

First consider freight for the empty boxes being delivered to your warehouse. Then consider the parcels you will send to customers after filling them. The carton dimensions for bulk packaging and the dimensions of an individual finished parcel are different inputs; request both where needed.

FAQ

Practical answers before you request a quote.

Can I print inside and outside the mailer box?

Both surfaces can be reviewed. Confirm the board, printed areas, colors and quantity before quotation because print methods and costs vary by construction.

Are mailer boxes suitable for fragile products?

Suitability depends on the entire pack, including the board, insert, cushioning, product weight and shipping conditions. Review a packed sample and agree the testing needed; a mailer box alone does not guarantee protection.

Should I send internal or external dimensions?

Label the dimensions clearly. Internal size is used to review product fit, while external packed size is needed for shipping. If you only know the product dimensions, send those with details of the wrapping and protection.

What is the standard MOQ?

The standard MOQ is 500 pieces per item for most custom packaging. Board, dimensions, print method and any special construction can change the final minimum.
